How to become an author

Authors can contribute to the development of the ENN-ICS online Sleep Tutorial with the help of an authoring environment integrated in the ENN-ICS portal. After a review by sleep experts and the editor of the tutorial, these contents will be released to the users.

If you want to work as an author by contributing new contents, please send

  • your brief CV,
  • your occupational history reflecting your expertise in sleep medicine,
  • and the topics you want to contribute
to the e-mail address given below.
The editors will decide on asking you to contribute with your specific topics.

For questions and comments, please contact us (see page consortium).

Creation and Editing of contents

At the very beginning, Content Authors will create the content following the structure given by the storyboard. Storyboards are designed to pre-edit materials that are the base for the production of the e-learning-units at some later point of time. A storyboard is a pre-step for the production. For development of the storyboards authors have to know only a simplified structure of the e-learning-units.

The authors can do this creative process with any word processing tool.

Then comes the technical part of authoring: The content authors themselves or technical authors transfer the contents into the final XML-structure such that the content complies with the XML schema. They do this using the Authoring System which helps to hide the complexity of editing an XML document by offering a graphical user interface providing adequate functions in a convenient way. The contents can then be checked in to the Content Management System.
